In his column in the Seattle Times, Paul Andrews remarks that the Linux revolution may be 'gaining traction' . . .
" . . . Among Web sites with lots of data and storage needs, Linux already is hugely popular. Google, the fastest site on the Web, uses Linux. The Internet Archive, an ambitious project to document the evolution of the Web, has stacks of 'vanilla' PCs running Linux. IBM's Linux support and catchy TV commercials have helped fuel curiosity."
"Big sites say they use Linux because it can be easily customized. It's also easy to add storage capacity with cheap Linux boxes. And Linux's far-lesser success on smaller-scale setups ? from small-business networks to desktop PCs ? may be changing . . . "
