| KDE 3.5 RC1 available for download |

The KDE Project announced that KDE 3.5 is almost finished, so the group has prepared a first release candidate. "We want to have it tested as much as possible, so please give it a show," project member Stephan Binner asked, in an announcement on on the KDE website.
KDE 3.5 RC1 ships with a basic desktop and 15 other packages (PIM, administration, network, edutainment, utilities, multimedia, games, artwork, web development, and more). KDE's tools and applications are available in 51 languages.
A Klax Live-CD for KDE 3.5 RC1 is available here.
The source is available for download here, and a Konstruct build script for compiling it is here. Binner requests that those who test RC1 report bugs here.
KDE, including all its libraries and its applications, is available for free under open source licenses. KDE can be obtained in source and numerous binary formats here, and can also be obtained on CD-ROM or with all major Linux systems currently shipping.
