| DesktopLinux.com launches the "Desktop Linux Directory" |
Jan. 03, 2002
DesktopLinux.com today unveiled the latest aspect of its efforts to advance the coming Desktop Linux Revolution. Beginning today, the community of those using -- or wanting to use -- Linux as their desktop computer operating system is invited to participate in creating the web's most extensive directory of Desktop Linux resources. The new Desktop Linux Directory will serve as a quick reference guide to desktop-oriented Linux distributions, application software, system utilities, websites, case histories, educational materials, and more.
DesktopLinux.com, launched in November 2001, is a popular website exclusively devoted to the use of Linux as a desktop operating system for personal and business purposes. The site features news, opinions, HOWTOs, FAQs, product previews/reviews, product listings, a discussion forum, and links to other web resources, all focused on using -- or learning to use -- Linux as a desktop operating system.
