A new report from Japan's Techno Systems Research Co says that BakBone led the market for Linux server backup products in 2003 with 79% of the market. BakBone develops data protection solutions for Linux that manage, access and protect business-critical data.
BakBone's 2003 Linux-based license sales in Japan increased by 45% over 2002, while the Japanese Linux backup and recovery software market grew at 26% according to IDC.
The IDC Enterprise Server Tracker forecasts Linux server shipments will grow at a compound annual growth rate of 40 percent from 2002 to 2007.
