Apr. 12, 2007
Attendee registration opened today for LinuxWorld Conference & Expo San Francisco, scheduled for Aug. 6 through 9 at the Moscone Center. More than 100 technical sessions will focus on key themes and technologies that include applications, virtualization, system troubleshooting, Linux/Windows interoperability, and more.
Keynote speakers will include Novell President and CEO Ronald W. Hovsepian, HP Executive Vice President-Technology Solutions Group Ann Livermore, and VMware President Diane Green, a LinuxWorld spokesperson said.
A special multimedia feature presentation, "Unifying the Linux Ecosystem," will be given by Jim Zemlin, executive director of the Linux Foundation.
The theme for this year's event is "Open Source is Everywhere." Accordingly, the show will focus on key areas that demonstrate the widespread acceptance of Linux and open source in corporate IT environments, including the data center, enterprise applications, the desktop, and mobile and embedded Linux, the spokesperson said.
Attendees can register for a free exhibit hall pass on or before Aug. 5, here. After that date, exhibit hall passes will be sold for $50. The pass provides attendees with access to the keynote addresses, feature presentations, birds-of-a-feather meetings, and the exhibit hall floor.
