| Mozilla to end Firefox 1.5.x support next month |
Apr. 24, 2007
It's time to move on, if you're still using one of the Firefox 1.5.x-series browsers. A Mozilla blogger announced today that the end-of-life deadline for security/stability upgrades for the older Firefox has been extended to an undetermined date in mid-May from the original date of today, April 24.
Mozilla has been urging users to upgrade to v2.0.x since its debut last October.
"We are focused on delivering a faster and more secure online experience. We want all of our users to benefit from the new features in Firefox 2.0," said the Mozilla spokesperson on the team's Developer Center website.
Firefox 2.0.0.3 is now available for Linux, Windows, and Mac OS X for free download here.
For those wish to be on the cutting edge of the browser wars, a Firefox 3 alpha is now available for testing purposes. You can download that one here.
