Red Hat Certification reimbursable for Vets under the G.I. Bill
May 23, 2002

Raleigh, NC -- (press release excerpt) -- Red Hat, Inc. today announced that eligible veterans nationwide can be reimbursed for the Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) exam under the G.I. Bill educational benefits program. Red Hat's Global Learning Services is the market leader for training and certification programs on Linux, open source and related topics, including the industry-standard RHCE courses. With several tracks in the RHCE program, IT professionals can choose an entry point that is consistent with their background and skill level. Veterans can take the RHCE exam at no cost, to gain the skills and competence for managing Linux servers.

Additionally, Red Hat will offer a $200.00 discount to eligible veterans who enroll in the training course for the June and July sessions. The first attempt at the RHCE should be taken prior to the end of August 2002, and the cost of that test will be covered under the new approval.

The RHCE program is a performance-based certification program designed to prove competency and confidence in building and managing Linux servers. Research has shown that Red Hat Certified Engineers gain career benefits and earn higher salaries. RHCE recently earned top survey ratings for quality of training and testing from Fairfield Research, Inc.
