| Lindows debuts single CD distro |
Jul. 10, 2003
Lindows.com, Inc. today announced the availability of LindowsCD, a version of LindowsOS that runs directly from a CD-ROM. It hosts many of the features found in LindowsOS 4.0, including complete hardware detection, comprehensive Plug & Play support, and multimedia support for MP3, Real Audio, Real Video, and Flash, according to the announcement.
LindowsCD is available for limited time free with the purchase of LindowsOS 4.0. It can be purchased separately for US $30 exclusively from TigerDirect.
LindowsCD is a single, bootable CDROM like the popular Debian-based Knoppix distribution and derivatives like Morphix. The software runs on the computer without changing the content of the hard drive.
