| Firefox extensions for enhanced browsing enjoyment |
Apr. 21, 2005
Boasting speed, security, and conveniences like pop-up blocking and tabbed browsing -- that quickly become necessities -- Mozilla Firefox has earned its adoring fans. In a four-part series, NewsForge writers Chris Lynch and Jim McQuoid explain how installing the right extensions can make Firefox even better.
In the first three parts, Chris Lynch raves about such extensions as Googlebar, a Firefox/Mozilla version of the Internet Explorer-only Google Toolbar (with a few bonus features not available in the original version); Adblock, which can, theoretically, permanently block every offer to punch monkeys for a prize; and Bookmarks Synchronizer, which allows network computers to share a bookmark collective. Jim McQuoid concludes the series with mentions of Chatzilla, a web-based IRC client; Quicknote, which sends highlighted text to a file, complete with reference URL; and others.
To learn more about these and other "essential Firefox extensions," read parts one, two, three, and four of the article.
