After months of 0.x beta releases, Mozilla.org has released Version 1.0 of Thunderbird -- its email, RSS, and newsgroup client. Thunderbird combines a lean, stripped-down look and feel with some very useful features. The program is highly efficient, occupying less than 20MB when installed -- pretty good for an email client that, with the right extensions, competes more with Outlook than with Outlook Express.
