Rome plans move to Desktop Linux
Feb. 26, 2004

Rome's La Repubblica newspaper talks to Mariella Gramaglia, city council member in the Municipality of Rome about the city's plan move to Linux desktops. The municipality has about 9,500 clients and plans to spend the cost savings from licensing fees for training. Gramaglia comments that moving to open source software would put "Rome on the same road of Monaco and other common ones that, in Europe and the world, they have decided to entrust itself to the free software."
