| Linare names former Sun advisor as chief technologist |

Bellevue, WA-based Linare Corporation has announced the appointment of Dr. Dominic Paulraj as Chief Technologist. Dr. Paulraj will focus on the Linare's desktop platform and lead the company’s efforts to build Linare Linux market share.
Just last month, Linare announced a distribution deal with Amazon.com for AMD powered low cost PCs preloaded with Linare Linux. The company's OS provides customers "everything needed in a typical office environment" according to a company statement. It is based on KDE, Open Office.org, games, Internet access, multimedia, and other utilities.

Dr. Paulraj comes to Linare with more than 18 years of experience in the areas of operating systems, embedded systems, system software tools, and performance analysis, according to a company announcement. Paulraj served as Sun Microsystems as Technical Advisor for Processor Architects and Compiler Developmentand was responsible for developing new features for all processors designed for Sun’s server systems. He also managed operations for Solaris Operating System Sustaining Group, working with various technologies such as kernel, NFS, Internet, clusters and utilities.
