| Sun adds Real media player to Linux-based desktop |

CNET reports that Sun is working with RealNetworks to add the Real media player on its Linux-based desktop system, Project Mad Hatter. Over the last few weeks, Sun has revealed the details of their desktop in advance of the product's September launch. Mad Hatter features StarOffice, the latest version of Sun's Java technology platform, the GNOME windowing environment, Sun ONE mail and calendaring, connectivity to existing Microsoft Exchange or Lotus Notes messaging services, says Sun.
