| Open-PC to roll out pilot program to Masschusetts state agency |

Morgan Lim's Chelsea, Mass-based Open-PC has been selected to deploy a pilot Linux desktop program in a bid to win the Massachusetts Department of Revenue's 3,500 desktops according to this report from Elizabeth Dinan at Mass High Tech.
Open-PC's Linux solution will cost the state about $200 per user whereas Microsoft's option will run about $500 for the same seat. That level of savings in states hard hit with budget cuts is compelling."Linux is very mature," Lim said. "We're doing a very good business. I think open source is going to grow bigger and bigger. The technology is there, but the mind-set is not there."
