Aug. 04, 2004
CodeWeavers has announced the release of an evaluation preview of CrossOver Office 3.1 with support for Apple's iTunes digital jukebox and download store.
Jeremy White, CEO of CodeWeavers said that “iTunes has been our number one, most requested application. We remain confident that by the end of 2005, the majority of Windows applications will be supported by CrossOver Office.”
The current version of CrossOver Office supports over 30 popular Windows applications. In addition to Microsoft Office, Visio, and Internet Explorer, Intuit Quicken, Macromedia Dreamweaver and Flash, Adobe Photoshop, and other popular Windows-based applications, the new release extends Linux support to Lotus Notes 6.51, Microsoft Outlook XP, and Microsoft Project. With the new release, Codeweavers has also integrated its browser plug-in application into all CrossOver Office products, extending CrossOver Plugin support for popular browser plug-ins such as Adobe Acrobat Reader, eFax, iPIX, QuickTime, Real Player, Shockwave Director, Windows Media Player, and Macromedia Flash. It is available in distributions from Lycoris, SuSE, and Xandros.
CrossOver Office Version 3.1 with iTunes support will be available later this year in both the standard and professional editions.
The preview beta is available to existing CrossOver customers.
