While the tech sector has slowed, a fire has ignited around Linux. HP posted $2 billion sales per year in Linux-related business, celebrities are seen celebrating at Linux events, and South Africa is that latest country to adopt open source. It is shaping up to be a good year for the penguin reports the BBC . . .
" . . . The Meta Group predicts that 45% of servers will be running Linux by 2007 at the latest. Similarly, analysts Gartner expects to see shipments of Linux server software to double in 2003 and generate £4bn in sales . . . "
