| Mozilla fixes 13 Firefox vulnerabilities |
Jun. 02, 2006
Mozilla's Firefox browser has been updated to fix 13 security vulnerabilities -- five of them rated critical, according to a report June 2 by eWEEK's Ryan Naraine. The open-source group has begun shipping Firefox 1.5.0.4 as a "security and stability release" to correct flaws that could cause security bypass, cross-site scripting, system access, and HTTP response-smuggling attacks.
Some of the flaws affecting Firefox also exist in Thunderbird, Naraine writes.
To read about all the changes in Thunderbird, see this DesktopLinux.com story.
"According to Mozilla's advisory, the most serious flaws occur because of errors in the browser engine that could be exploited to cause a memory corruption. This may allow arbitrary code execution attacks," Naraine writes.
