| Corporate Linux Lab opens in Mountain View, California |
Aug. 19, 2003
A state-of-the-art "Corporate Linux Environment" (CLE) has launched in the heart of Silicon Valley. The Freedom Technology Center will feature desktop Linux systems, a Linux-based server infrastructure, modern teleconferencing, network and presentation facilities.
According to Don Marti, one of the center's organizers, the goal of the center is "to train information technology professionals in free software, and particularly to give those professionals stuck in the low-margin PC business the ability to offer products and services with more value, such as entertainment, security, and telecommunications systems."
For training providers and sponsors, the Center will provide a cost-effective alternative to hotels as a training facility. Sponsorships and bookings for the center are now being accepted. More information is available at the center's website.
