Nov. 28, 2001
Austin, TX -- NeTraverse and MandrakeSoft today announced a strategic relationship aimed at allowing users and organizations to leverage the powerful advantages of Linux and their current technology investments in Windows. By providing best-of-both-worlds solutions that dramatically lower cost, provide better security and reliability, the partnership will help drive acceptance of Linux as a mainstream platform.
In the relationship agreement, MandrakeSoft will be integrating and marketing the NeTraverse products with its market-leading software, offering NeTraverse's Win4Lin desktop product directly through its online store.
Jacques Le Marois, president, CEO and co-founder of MandrakeSoft, said "One of the barriers to Linux has been the traditional lack of popular productivity applications. NeTraverse brings a revolutionary product to market, which ensures a seamless migration to Linux by allowing Windows users to keep their familiar desktop applications while benefiting from the openness, stability and efficiency of Linux."
With its endorsement of the NeTraverse solution, Mandrake now provides a cost-effective, resource-efficient, high-performance solution for running Windows applications on Linux. NeTraverse Win4Lin 3.0 and NeTraverse Server include early-to-market support for Mandrake Linux 8.1 and can be purchased in the near future via the MandrakeSoft online store at www.mandrakestore.com. Evaluation copies of the NeTraverse software are also included in MandrakeSoft's most recent PowerPack and ProSuite Editions.
