| Win4Lin Pro gains "Red Hat Ready" status |
May 25, 2005
Win4Lin says its Win4Lin Pro virtual computing environment has been designated "Red Hat Ready" for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 on x86 and 64-bit processor platforms. The software enables the use of Windows and its applications on top of a Linux distribution, on a single PC.
In addition to officially supporting the Red Hat distributions that their apps are desiginated "Ready" for, "Red Hat Ready" partners are required to first meet, and then maintain, compatibility with certain certification criteria, according to Win4Lin.
"It is imperative that business applications run in a secure and cost effective environment," said Win4Lin vice president of business development Mark Hinkle. "Win4Lin brings these mission critical Windows applications to Linux" -- and greater support for Win4Lin's virtualization software to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 customers.
